Job summary

Holtec International, through its SMR LLC subsidiary, seeks a Piping Engineer to support analysis and design of nuclear piping systems for the SMR-300. You will focus on ASME Section III Class 1-3 piping design and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in piping analysis, proficiency in AutoPIPE and Smart3D/SmartPlant, and relocation assistance is available for Almondsbury, UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5 years of piping analysis experience in nuclear or regulated industries.
• Direct ASME Section III Class 1, 2, and 3 piping analysis experience.
• Experience with ASME B31.1 or similar codes.
• Proficiency with AutoPIPE.
• Experience in SmartPlant or Smart3D environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eligibility to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
• Familiarity with NRC regulations related to nuclear design.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear piping stress analyses using AutoPIPE per ASME Section III Class 1, 2, 3 requirements.
• Analyze pipe supports and coordinate with pipe support design teams.
• Prepare, review, and maintain piping engineering deliverables (stress reports, isometrics, line lists).
• Support Smart3D piping models and resolve layout, flexibility, and stress interface issues.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and systems teams to resolve design and analysis challenges.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and construction; address piping field issues.
• Review supplier and vendor documentation for code compliance.
• Ensure work meets quality, completeness, and regulatory expectations per internal procedures.
