Job Title

We are looking for a NMC/HCPC registered Senior Theatre Practitioner with an interest in Clinical Education.

Hours: Monday to Friday 0800-1800 x 3 plus 1 x 0800-1700 shift per week

What can you do for us?
  1. Be educated BSc level or willing to undertake this level of study to fall in line with national standards.
  2. Be competent in most areas of perioperative practice and willing to develop competence in the rest.
  3. Have a proven interest in the provision of education across a large team.
  4. Have experience of delivering education in a peri-operative setting, with an interest in developing perioperative practitioners to their highest potential.
  5. Develop and deliver induction courses for all new starts and ensure these are completed in a timely, supported manner.
  6. Act as the liaison for university and in house training delivery, for student nurses and ODPs. Allocating appropriate mentors and coordinating the educational needs of each student.
  7. Have lots of ideas about educational support and delivery in a large team, enthusiasm and be ready to liaise with the dynamic team in the Regional Theatre Academy.
  8. Enjoy the idea of working in one of the most dynamic and challenging environments available.
  9. Have the confidence to work towards and make improvements to a large team of individuals comprising all levels of needs, from students to senior staff with 35+ years of experience.
  10. Work predominantly Monday – Friday but be prepared to be flexible as the demands of the service dictate and educational needs are identified.

The theatre team at Dr Grays Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic, innovative person centred Clinical Educator to support the established theatre team that covers a wide range of clinical specialties. The ideal candidate must have a proven interest in delivering education to teams and supporting staff and students at all levels and stages.

The successful candidate must be ready to learn, teach, progress, liaise and be willing to spearhead change. This is a role that requires initiative and drive and we would look for evidence of this at interview.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
