Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a PRU in Bolton, supporting young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour to manage emotions and engage with learning.

The role is full-time, five days a week, starting in September. You will work alongside school staff to monitor progress, provide academic and social support, and foster positive relationships for pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a UK school, ideally PRU or specialist school.
• Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour and additional needs.
• Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Proactive and resilient attitude toward supporting young people with complex needs.
• Team Teach would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting young people with challenging behaviour and emotional struggles.
• Working with the school SLT to discuss challenges and monitor progress.
• Supporting young people both academically and socially.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people to support personal development and wellbeing.
