Job summary

Smile Education are recruiting a PRU Behaviour Mentor to work in an Oldham PRU provision with secondary pupils who may struggle to engage in mainstream lessons. You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, helping them regulate behaviour and re-engage with learning.

The role involves restorative conversations, with safeguarding procedures in place and a weekly pay cycle. Immediate start and long-term potential are highlighted in the job description.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
• Experience in PRU/alternative provision, SEMH, SEND or mentoring is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.
• Right to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH, SEND and behavioural needs.
• One-to-one and small-group support and intervention.
• Help students regulate behaviour and stay engaged in learning.
• Record behaviour, engagement and intervention notes as required.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
