Job summary

PA Consulting’s Prototyping Workshop in the UK seeks a technician with strong precision machining to design, program and manufacture components for consumer, medical, defence, and other sectors. You’ll collaborate with engineers, scientists and designers across multiple disciplines to turn ideas into scalable prototypes.

The role covers manual and CNC milling/turning, 3D printing, and CADCAM using SolidWorks, with training provided.

Qualifications

• We require strong precision machining experience as a core skill.
• Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
• Ability to learn and develop 3D printing skills.
• Proactive, pragmatic and collaborative problem solving.
• Enthusiasm to operate manual and CNC milling/turning and use CADCAM tools.
• Proficiency with MS Office and teamwork in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC milling/turning to produce components.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists and designers across disciplines.
• Develop and apply 3D printing capabilities to prototypes and concept models.
• Utilise CADCAM workflows, preferably SolidWorks, on prototyping projects.
• Communicate effectively at all levels within a multi-disciplinary team.
