Job summary

Unipart Technologies Group is seeking a Workshop Engineer to support workshop activities, assemble products from parts, laser-cut components and wire installations to specification, using CNC machines and hand tools. You will identify efficiency improvements and help implement them, ensuring quality and compliance with design intent.

You will work with Design Engineers, prototype, manufacture, test, install and commission products, and provide updates on project status to senior management.

Qualifications

• Experience of electrical component integration.
• Experience of manufacturing processes, both mechanical and digital.
• Quality focused.
• Mechanical competence.
• Experience using continuous improvement tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture / assemble new products, working with Design Engineers, ensuring they meet specification, functional, design and business performance requirements.
• Involvement in the manufacturing of innovative products from concept to operation including prototyping, manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
• Measure and inspect products ensuring they are up to specification.
• Support other engineers within the team.
• Ensure intellectual property and commercial issues associated with product development and introduction are effectively managed with suppliers and customers.
• Develop your own knowledge and ability using Continuous Improvement activities to support business growth.
• Provide workshop support, equipment maintenance, stock check.
• Keep senior management and engineers up-to-date on project status and progress.
