Job summary

Ricardo Deutschland GmbH is seeking a confident Prototype Build Technician to support a growing portfolio of driveline testing projects. You will strip and build prototype transmissions, following build manuals with engineering support, and identify improvements in build processes.

The role requires extensive experience with complex prototype assemblies, interpretation of drawings, and precise measurement skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with complex prototype assemblies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings at a high level.
• Familiar with precise measurement techniques (Manual or CMM).
• Fabrication/modification experience on bespoke hardware (machining: lathe, mill, pillar drill, welder).
• Strong mechanical understanding of prototype build processes and fault identification.

Responsibilities

• Strip and build of prototype transmissions following manuals with engineering support.
• Fault finding of transmission build and manufacturing issues.
• Strip and inspection of unfamiliar transmissions without instructions.
• Understand different transmission types, functions, and components.
• Instrumentation and modification of test units as required by engineering.
• Raising issues found during build and contributing to 8D reports.
• Adhere to storage/part picking processes with engineering support.
• Maintain good housekeeping of facilities and workshops.
