Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Development Technician for a specialist engineering and manufacturing company in Westbury. You will develop, assemble and test complex electromechanical products, turning designs into prototypes and supporting from design through to manufacture and testing.

Key duties include precision mechanical assembly, wiring and PCB work, functional testing and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering aptitude and hands-on approach.
• Ability to fault-find across mechanical and electrical subsystems.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality and repeatability.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new designs and advise on assembly, function, and testability.
• Plan prototype and development builds; support testing.
• Perform precision mechanical assembly from drawings and BOMs.
• Assemble and test electrical components including PCBs and wiring.
• Inspect parts for issues and identify potential manufacturing or design risks.
• Carry out development and acceptance testing with appropriate equipment.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Document assembly procedures and test results for production.
