Job summary

SRG in Scotland is seeking a chemist or biochemist at a degree or higher level to join its development team. You will contribute to the development and transfer of fit-for-purpose processes for customer projects in a growing contract manufacturing environment.

You will plan and run experiments, record and present data, and work with clients and internal teams to deliver projects safely and to a high standard.

Qualifications

  • A degree or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Relevant industry, academic or research experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of process development, protein structure and function would be beneficial.
  • Experience with protein purification techniques such as Tangential Flow Filtration, AKTA, chromatography or filtration would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of protein analytical techniques, including UV/VIS and HPLC, would be useful.
  • Experience in drug development, pharmaceutical or biotech environments would be desirable, but is not essential.

  • Following laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and to a high-quality standard.
  • Troubleshooting scaled-up processes and supporting continuous improvement across development activities.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, quality and health and safety requirements.
