Job summary

Omicron electronics GmbH is looking for a skilled engineer to provide product consultation, training, and on-site support on protection testing equipment for digital protection systems. You will troubleshoot customer issues, deliver training (in person and via webinars), and contribute to product development discussions.

Expect travel to customer sites and conferences, and work with power system assets across generation, transmission, and distribution.

Qualifications

Graduate education in electronics or electrical engineering.
Several years of experience in power systems, especially substation protection apparatus.
Customer support experience and enjoy giving training in classroom and field environments.
Pro-active and open personality; service-oriented and customer-focused.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel to other countries (up to 50%).

Responsibilities

Provide product consultation, training and support on protection testing and diagnostic equipment for digital protection systems.
Troubleshoot technical problems for customers and sales support; provide on-site support for OMICRON applications.
Develop and deliver training for OMICRON products, in person and via webinars.
Provide input on new products, product strategies and development needs.
Work with power system assets in generation, transmission and distribution.
Create and update application notes and technical papers; present at seminars and conferences.
