Job summary

Thales Group in Oxford is seeking a Propulsion Systems Engineer to own propulsion subsystems across the full life cycle, from requirements through testing and performance analysis.

You will lead architecture decisions, maintain the TRD, and develop test plans while interfacing with customers and cross-functional teams. This role offers high-visibility satellite projects and opportunities to advance within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, space engineering, physics, or closely related discipline.
• Strong communication and ability to work autonomously.
• Experience interfacing with customers and multiple subsystems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead propulsion subsystem architecture and trade-offs across satellite design.
• Define and maintain the TRD with traceability.
• Prepare design justifications for major reviews (PDR/CDR/QR).
• Develop integration & test plans and oversee MAIT/AIT activities.
• Build and improve analysis tools (MATLAB/Python) for performance analyses.
