Job summary

TAS UK is expanding its propulsion centre of excellence at the Harwell site and seeks engineers with space propulsion experience to join the team. The role involves leading propulsion subsystem activities, interfacing with customers and cross-functional teams, and contributing to design reviews across project lifecycles.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Space Engineering or related fields, and desirable experience in chemical or electric propulsion systems and spacecraft subsystems.

Qualifications

  • The following are considered essential for this role:
  • Degree in Space Engineering or related discipline
  • Desirable: direct experience in space engineering and propulsion
  • Desirable: experience with chemical propulsion thrusters or electric propulsion systems

Responsibilities

  • Work package and Study Management ensuring engineering delivery.
  • Provide regular reporting of technical progress to the project team and TAS management.
  • Propulsion subsystem and propulsion equipment activities during project phases.
  • Primary technical contact for propulsion subsystem including interfacing with customers, PMO, AIT and other subsystems.
  • Establish baseline technical requirements for propulsion subsystem (TRD).
  • Support propulsion trade-offs and design justification for major reviews.
  • Present subsystem design justification in major design reviews with the Program Management Office and other subsystems.
  • Contribute to subsystem documentation through project milestones (PDR, CDR, QR, etc).
  • Develop and improve analysis tools (EcosimPro, Excel, MATLAB, Python).
