Job summary

Wärtsilä in Glasgow is seeking a Resources & Planning Manager for the Propulsion Service Engineers to lead a high-performing team and ensure safe, reliable service delivery. The role combines people leadership with hands-on planning of field resources and coordination across stakeholders.

You will coach engineers, plan service deliveries, and drive continuous improvement while upholding Wärtsilä’s safety standards and customer focus.

Qualifications

Experience in leadership or people management.
Experience in service delivery, preferably within the marine industry.
Knowledge of propulsion systems and field services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop the Propulsion Service Engineers team.
Manage assigned service delivery activities and resource requirements.
Support competence development through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.
Promote a strong preparation, quality and a first time right approach.
Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure processes and tools are followed in line with QHSE requirements.
Build a high-performing team based on trust, collaboration and accountability.
Contribute to action plans and ensure business objectives are achieved.
Promote Operational Excellence and an excellent customer experience.
