About the Company:

We're partnered with a market leader offering fluid-flow solutions for HVAC systems both in the UK & globally. Their products aim to improve energy performance and sustainability in building systems and are renowned for their quality.

Joining their dynamic proposals team based south of Birmingham, our client is looking for a highly skilled Proposals Engineer to develop accurate, customer-focused, competitive proposals that position the company as a solution to enquiries for packaged plantroom solutions (including associated off-site systems).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Interpret Technical Requirements: Carefully analyse client specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand the technical and commercial scope of projects.
2. Create Accurate and Competitive Proposals: Produce well-structured proposals including pricing, design details, and technical justifications tailored to client requirements and company capabilities.
3. Estimate Project Costs: Build detailed cost estimates, considering materials, labour, manufacturing, and third-party inputs, while identifying cost-effective alternatives where appropriate.
4. Coordinate with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineering, procurement, and production departments to gather input for proposals and ensure technical feasibility.
5. Engage with Clients: Act as the main contact during proposal phases, handling technical questions, attending meetings, and supporting negotiations.
6. Ensure Proposal Quality and Timeliness: Meet quality benchmarks and deadlines by managing documentation, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

Requirements:

• HNC qualification in Building Services Engineering or similar.
• At least 3 years' experience in estimating, proposals, and pricing responsibilities; experience in Building Services estimating is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD/AutoCAD for costing and spatial design.
• Strong knowledge of UK contract and tendering processes.
• Excellent communication, concise reporting, and stakeholder liaison skills.
