Job description

We are seeking a Proposals Engineer to join a well-established global manufacturer. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting proposals for projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements.

The Proposals Engineer will play a crucial role in securing new business opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities include:

1. Handling all RFQs and preparing accurate cost estimates based on pre-agreed costings for quotation submissions, including specification review, critique, and negotiation.
2. liaising with purchasing to ensure that bought-out requirements are understood and meet project timescales.
3. Collaborating with manufacturing to determine manufacturing methods and times.
4. Ensuring manufacturing capacity aligns with project requirements and timelines.
5. Providing internal support for external sales managers.
6. Interpreting and understanding customer requirements.
7. Applying core design skills in materials selection, gear rating, shaft and bearing analysis, and other drive system elements, including structures and lubrication systems.

Minimum requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Knowledge of engineering technology.
• Understanding of product costing methods.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and business systems.
• Commercial awareness.
• Ability to effectively represent the company at a senior level with suppliers and customers.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.
