Are you a proactive Proposals Engineer with a strong mechanical background and a passion for technical sales? Join our dynamic team at SAMSON Materials Handling Ltd, a global leader in Bulk Material Handling Systems for ports, terminals, cement, mining, and more.

As part of the AUMUND Group of Companies, you'll play a vital role in turning opportunities into successful proposals—developing technical solutions, estimating project costs, and supporting the Sales team across the UK and internationally.

Location: Based in Ely, UK with occasional international travel

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop project-specific technical solutions and detailed proposals.
• Prepare costing estimates and proposal documentation aligned with client needs.
• Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and group companies to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
• Manage proposal processes, coordinate reviews, and support commercial negotiations.
• Continuously improve internal proposal tools and methods.
• Ensure clarity of costing, mitigate commercial risks, and manage bid handovers smoothly.

What You Bring:

• Mechanical engineering expertise, especially in bulk materials handling and steel structures.
• Strong skills in reading technical drawings and understanding RFQs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 2D (Autodesk 2018 preferred).
• Commercial awareness and an eye for detail in technical and cost analysis.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad.

• This position is based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, so applicants must be able to commute to Ely.
