They are looking to a hire a Proposals Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. As a commercial tendering specialist, you’ll be key in assisting the business’s Directors with creating strong proposals across various business sectors. Using your industry technical expertise in PLC/SCADA control systems and tendering processes, you’ll contribute to developing clear and professional proposals that meet the business’s clients’ needs and expectations.

Their ideal candidate will have considerable previous experience within a technical tendering role. They will be educated to HNC level or higher within an Engineering discipline. They ideally would have experience addressing social value, sustainability, and governance in tender responses, though this is not essential to applying for the role.

They are offering a competitive salary of up to c£55,000 per annum D.O.E for the position alongside a generous benefits package which includes paid overtime, flexible working, birthdays off, sick pay, pension contribution, and an onsite gym membership.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Create and update costing and proposal templates to improve efficiency in processes
• Track tender portals for new opportunities and keep the CRM system up to date
• Take charge of preparing tenders for smaller projects, including cost estimates, timelines, and proposals
• Generate and deliver monthly and yearly sales reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of data
• Manage client communications, oversee sales documentation, and organize sales materials like case studies and testimonials

Skills and Experience

• Considerable experience in tendering for complex automation and control system solutions
• HNC or higher in an Engineering discipline or similar
• Previous technical experience working with PLCs, SCADA and HMI systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, and Project
• Experience addressing social value, sustainability, and governance in tender responses is highly desirable
