Job summary

Ips Group seeks an Assistant Underwriter to join a specialist City insurance outfit supporting predominantly high-volume US Property business. You will help to drive profitable growth, provide responsive broker service and develop strong market relationships.

This role involves supporting new business, renewals and referrals, building broker/client relationships, attending meetings, assisting with planning and reporting, and ensuring documentation aligns with underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of property underwriting.
• Cert CII qualification.
• Strong numerical and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting new business, renewals, quotations and referrals within agreed authority.
• Building broker and client relationships and delivering prompt, high-quality service.
• Attending broker and client meetings and presentations.
• Assisting with business planning, new opportunities and class-performance reporting.
• Working with other divisions to ensure consistent processes and required documentation.
• Following underwriting guidelines, reporting requirements and peer-review procedures.
