Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to join the Housing team. You will inspect properties, carry out HHSRS assessments and oversee contractors to improve residents’ homes and wellbeing.

You will manage major repairs, energy efficiency projects and decarbonisation works, ensuring safety, compliance and value for money. A customer-focused approach and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent
• Experience diagnosing complex building defects and housing hazards
• Knowledge of residential construction, repairs and maintenance

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex building defects, disrepair issues, damp and mould and other property hazards.
• Investigate damp and mould cases, identify root causes and oversee remedial works.
• Promote energy efficiency and sustainability in line with council policies.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
