Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to join the Housing team. You will inspect properties, perform HHSRS assessments, and manage contractors to drive major repairs, energy efficiency improvements and decarbonisation initiatives.

You will work with residents and colleagues to ensure homes are safe, compliant and well-maintained, delivering high-quality customer service and value for money. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management or related discipline.
• Experience diagnosing complex building defects including damp and mould in residential housing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of residential construction, repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex building defects, disrepair issues, damp and mould and other property hazards.
• Investigate damp and mould cases, identify root causes and oversee remedial works.
• Promote sustainability and energy efficiency by identifying improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards and council policies.
