Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an experienced Property Surveyor to join the Housing team. You will investigate building defects, damp and mould, disrepair and housing hazards, delivering practical solutions that improve residents' homes and wellbeing.

You will conduct property inspections, HHSRS assessments and void inspections, manage contractors, oversee quality standards and support investment programmes including major repairs, energy efficiency improvements and decarbonisation

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management or related discipline.
Experience diagnosing complex building defects, damp and mould, and property-related hazards in residential housing.
Knowledge of residential construction, repairs and maintenance practices.
Customer-focused with a commitment to improving outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities

Diagnose complex building defects, disrepair issues, damp and mould and other property hazards.
Investigate damp and mould cases, identify root causes and oversee remedial works.
Promote energy efficiency and sustainability by improving housing performance.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and council policies.
