Tarmac Trading Limited invites ambitious graduates to join the Graduate Real Estate Surveyor cohort for 2027. Based from our Stancombe Office near Bristol, you will rotate through Land & Natural Resources, gaining hands-on experience in asset management, strategic planning, and land development.

The programme supports APC accreditation and builds a broad professional network. You’ll rotate across charters within L&NR and participate in a Core Skills Development Programme to enhance business

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a RICS APC accredited degree.
• Willing to work in different locations across UK and Ireland.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Problem solving skills and a keen interest in Land & Natural Resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist with land and mineral acquisition, strategic estate management, and disposal of surplus sites.
• Review land development portfolio and support disposal of assets.
• Promote sites and secure value adding planning permissions.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to meet land disposal targets and strategic objectives.
• Support initiatives to enhance rental income and unlock development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with planning permissions, leases and tenure arrangements.
• Coordinate planning applications and review consultant reports.
• Develop understanding of property ownership and landlord-tenant dynamics.
• Engage with external stakeholders including communities, statutory bodies, landlords and planning authorities.
• Support development and use of Tarmac's Electronic Property Information System.

Calling all future surveyors! Are you studying surveying or recently graduated and ready to launch your career? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for! Our Tarmac Land and Natural Resources team are recruiting a Graduate Real Estate Surveyor to join our 2027 Cohort starting in September 2027. The Graduate Programme includes the opportunity to join our Land & Natural Resources Team based out of our Stancombe Office near Bristol.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Head of Estates and Estates, Disposals and Development Managers with land and mineral acquisition, strategic estate management and development and disposal of surplus sites.
• Reviewing the land development portfolio and working closely with Development and Disposals Managers to identify opportunities to enhance the portfolio's value and assisting with the disposal of assets.
• Working with Development Managers to realise these opportunities by promoting sites and securing value adding planning permissions
• Liaising with a range of internal stakeholders to support the achievement of land disposal targets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Supporting initiatives to enhance rental income and unlock development opportunities.
• Working within planning consents for mineral extraction and associated operations.
• Ensuring compliance with planning permissions, lease agreements, and tenure arrangements.
• Preparing or coordinating and reviewing planning applications, including interpreting specialist consultant reports.
• Building a strong understanding of property ownership, landlord-tenant dynamics, and planning policy frameworks.
• Engaging with key external stakeholders such as local communities, statutory bodies, landlords, and planning authorities.
• Managing relationships with landlords and tenants to maintain positive and productive partnerships.
• Supporting the development and use of Tarmac's Electronic Property Information System.
• Participating in the Graduate Core Skills Development Programme to broaden your business knowledge and professional network.

Your Development

As part of the graduate rotation programme, you'll gain hands‑on experience across key areas of Land & Natural Resources (L&NR), including Asset Management, Strategic Planning, and Land Development. This structured rotation is designed to give you a well‑rounded and practical foundation, helping you build the skills, insight, and confidence needed to launch a successful career in surveying. You'll also receive dedicated support as you work towards your RICS APC accreditation, guided by our Tarmac‑led APC Forum.?

During the two year graduate role, you will have the opportunity to rotate around the different charters within L&NR to ensure you build a broad experience across the disciplines. This will include a placement in Asset Management, Strategic Planning and Land Development Teams.

As part of your graduate journey, you'll take part in our?Core Skills Graduate Development Programme - a structured series of modules delivered over two years. This programme is designed to build your business acumen, enhance your soft skills, and create valuable networking opportunities to support your transition into your destination role.?
