Thames Valley Police is seeking a Property Strategic Procurement Lead on a secondment/fixed term contract (9-12 months) to join the Procurement Department, hybrid in Kidlington.
You will lead strategic procurement across estate projects, apply Playbooks, manage stakeholders, and drive value for money while ensuring governance and contract management excellence.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Procurement Department on an interim basis as a Property Strategic Procurement Lead, supporting the delivery of the Force's Estates Transformation Programme.
This key role will act as the Force's Construction Procurement Subject Matter Expert, providing specialist market insight, commercial advice and procurement expertise to support the successful delivery of a major transformation programme. Working closely with senior stakeholders, project teams and external partners, you will influence strategic decision-making and help shape the future of the Force's estate and procurement function.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced procurement professional with a strong public sector background and expertise in construction, estates and facilities management procurement.
As Property Strategic Procurement Lead, you will provide strategic procurement leadership across a diverse range of property-related projects and programmes. You will use your market knowledge and commercial expertise to develop procurement strategies, identify opportunities for innovation and value for money, and ensure procurement activity supports the successful delivery of the Estates Transformation Programme.
You will play a key role in engaging stakeholders, managing supplier and market relationships, and providing expert guidance on construction procurement, contract management and commercial risk. Working collaboratively across departments, you will help drive effective decision-making and support the delivery of long-term estate objectives.

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.
Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
