Job summary

Thames Valley Police is seeking a Data and Reporting Analyst on a secondment/fixed-term, part-time basis (18.5 hours per week) to support the Estates Transformation Programme in developing the future Property Services operating model. Hybrid working from Kidlington, TVP Broad Band 4I rank; 9-12 months.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality reporting, transforming data into insights, and supporting programme governance and decision-making across stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform complex data into meaningful information.
  • Experience creating BI reporting solutions to support governance and performance monitoring.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint) and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance programme reporting and BI solutions.
  • Analyse and present complex data for diverse audiences.
  • Support governance through timely reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor and report programme performance, risks, issues, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and visualisations to aid decision-making.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data and Reporting Analyst to support the Estates Transformation Programme in developing the future Property Services Operating Model.


This role is ideal for an individual looking to further develop their data analysis, reporting, and programme support skills while gaining valuable experience within a large-scale transformation programme. You will play a key role in supporting programme governance and decision-making by delivering high-quality reporting and insightful data analysis that helps shape the future of Property Services.


Working closely with programme teams and stakeholders, you will develop and maintain reporting solutions, transform complex data into meaningful insights, and support the effective monitoring of programme performance, risks, and benefits.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain, and enhance programme reporting and business intelligence solutions.

  • Analyse, interpret, and present complex data in a clear and meaningful way for a range of audiences.

  • Support programme governance through the production of accurate and timely reports and dashboards.

  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of programme performance, risks, issues, and benefits.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and develop effective solutions.

  • Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and visualisations to support decision-making.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting processes and data management practices.


About You

We're looking for someone with a logical, analytical mindset and a passion for using data to drive informed decision-making. You will be comfortable working independently while also building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.


You will have:



  • A good understanding of programme and project management principles, methodologies, techniques, and tools, including the importance of monitoring programme risks, impacts, and benefits.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint, together with strong experience using Power BI.

  • Experience of gathering and defining business reporting requirements and developing reporting solutions that support governance, performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making.

  • Hands-on experience creating business intelligence and reporting solutions, demonstrating a flexible and methodical approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and transform complex or mixed datasets into meaningful and user-friendly information.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, clear, and high-quality outputs.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, organise workloads effectively, and meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
