Mears Group is seeking a General Operative in the Newcastle/Durham area. The role involves a hands-on maintenance and repair mix, including light plumbing, door fixes and safety checks.

You will inspect properties, work mainly solo, and support the Repairs and Maintenance team to keep homes in good condition. The position is full-time, permanent, 42.5 hours weekly, with a 8:00am–5:00pm schedule and a salary of £29,426.25 plus a company vehicle and fuel card.

Qualifications

• Basic DIY skills including ability to re plumb a washing machine, putting up blinds and siliconing a bath.
• Customer service experience is required.
• IT literacy is required to use property management systems.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
• Reliable, punctual and able to travel across the region.

Responsabilités

• Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks in properties.
• Inspect properties and complete routine checks (smoke alarms, safety hardware).
• Work mainly lone, but within Repairs and Maintenance team as needed.
• Ensure properties meet required standards and safety compliance.
