Job summary

Home Group is seeking a skilled inspector to help keep homes safe and high quality. You will inspect properties, identify repairs early, and advise on cost‑effective solutions to move works quickly.

You will coordinate asbestos checks, insurance claims, and permissions with a trusted team, ensuring accurate records and timely actions. You’ll join a friendly team in Cumbria, with 8:30am–4:30pm core hours, a company vehicle, and mileage paid.

Qualifications

• ONC in construction or NVQ Level 3 trade qualification with relevant field experience.
• Experience inspecting homes and giving clear, confident advice.
• Knowledge of building rules and Decent Homes Standard.

• Salary £35,000 to £40,000 per annum plus 34 days leave and matching pension contribution up to 7%

You have

• A minimum ONC in construction (or equivalent such as NVQ Level 3 trade qualification) and relevant experience in a construction-related field, with sound technical and property repairs knowledge.
• Experience inspecting homes and giving clear, confident advice.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills to record and report findings well.
• Knowledge of building and planning rules and the Decent Homes Standard.
• A full UK driving licence and confidence using access equipment.

The practical bits

• You need a vehicle insured for business use, and we pay your mileage.
• You need a Basic DBS check that we pay for.
• You’ll work Monday to Friday across out properties in Cumbria
• You’ll work core hours between 8:30am and 4:30pm with flexibility built in.
