Job summary

Medway Housing Society is seeking a Property Inspector to support the delivery of repairs and maintenance in a dynamic team. You will assist with inspections, contractor liaison, and quality monitoring while ensuring Health and Safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Trade NVQ qualified to level 3 or equivalent.
• Health & Safety awareness required.
• Experience in housing repairs and trades, particularly in kitchens & bathrooms.
• Supervising experience is a must.

• Full and valid driving licence required.
• Ability to use a PDA mobile device to manage your work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of repairs and maintenance service.
• Conduct pre and post inspections.
• Liaise with contractors and document inspections.
• Monitor quality of work for DLO and external contractors.
• Ensure Health and Safety compliance.

Job description

We're looking for a Property Inspector to join our dynamic Kitchen & Bathrooms/Voids/Repairs Team and make a real impact to the lives and homes of our customers. If you want to be part of a supportive, high performing team, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Your main duties will be assisting in the delivery of the repairs and maintenance service across the Asset Delivery Department, including pre and post inspections, contractor liaison and accurate implementation and documentation of inspections through our open housing system.

The role will also require you to monitor the quality of works both within the internal direct labour organisation (DLO) and External Contractors along with ensuring Health and Safety compliance.

Must haves:

• Trade NVQ qualified to level 3 or equivalent
• Health & Safety awareness
• Experience in housing repairs and trades, particularly across kitchens & bathrooms
• Supervising experience is a must
• Experience working in the social housing or maintenance sector would be desirable
• Full and valid driving licence
• Able to use a personal digital assistant (PDA) mobile device to manage your work

Hours of work:

• 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• The normal hours of duty are between 8:00am till 4:30pm and the actual hours to be worked each day will be agreed with you, depending on the needs of the business
