The Role

Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is currently seeking a proactive and experienced Projects and Safety Manager within the Construction Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on health and safety, manage learner project activities, and ensure our workshops are safe, effective, and fully equipped to support high-quality construction education.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

As a key member of the Construction team, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and compliant operation of all construction workshops and learner projects. Specific duties will include:

  • Leading a team of Resource Assistants to maintain high standards in workshop safety and organisation.
  • Overseeing health and safety compliance across all practical areas, including documentation, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Ensuring all machinery and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Managing community and employer-based learner projects, from planning to execution, ensuring full health and safety compliance.
  • Collaborating with curriculum staff to align resources and safety practices with evolving programme needs.
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture among staff and students.
