Job summary

Pobl Group in Pontypridd is seeking a full-time Project Worker for our Young Persons Supported Accommodation service, The Grange. You will support young people aged 16-25, helping them engage in activities, develop tenancy skills and access services.

The role requires flexibility to work on a rolling rota including days, evenings, weekends and waking nights. You will need a driving licence and access to a car.

• Experience with vulnerable people is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job description

This is a Project Worker role based in our Supported accommodation service, The Grange, Pontypridd. We have a team of Scheme Support officers, and Project Workers providing 24/7 Support to our young people who are experience homelessness. The Grange provides short term, temporary, emergency accommodation to young, homeless people aged 16 to 25. Working as a team you will give opportunity for the young people to engage in activities and training which will allow them to develop the necessary skills to manage a tenancy and to live independently. You will provide opportunities that build their confidence in accessing services, education, and gaining the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for their transition into adolescence. This is a challenging role, you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including substance misuse, mental health and offending behaviour. You will have the skills to adapt your approach to engage with the young people to ensure that they feels heard and supported. Day to day duties:

• A full-time Project Worker in a Young persons Supported Accommodation scheme in Pontypridd. You will be required to work on a rolling rota which includes days, evenings, weekend availability and waking nights. It is essential that you hold a driving licence and have access to a car.
• Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people
• A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
• A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
• Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
• Ability to write support plans and risk assessments based on the individuals needs.
• Hold a driving licence and have access to a car
• Ability to lone working and making sound decisions independently.
