Job summary

WATES is recruiting a Project Surveyor to manage the commercial delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment works for a major social housing contract in the West Midlands, with projects located around a 15 mile radius of the Walsall office.

The role focuses on subcontract procurement through to final account, supporting teams with commercial advice, and building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners to ensure efficient delivery in line with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor/Project Surveyor in social housing planned maintenance.
• Strong contract administration and commercial management knowledge.
• Experience with subcontractor accounts, valuations and variations.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and supply chain.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment works.
• Administer subcontractor packages, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Provide commercial guidance to project teams throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with clients, operations and suppliers.
• Monitor commercial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and procedures.
