Job description

We have an opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join Wates with our Wates Living Space Planned Maintenance team in Sheffield, working on a domestic refurbishment programme for one of our key clients. This role is on a long-term framework with a potential 9-year duration.

Key Accountabilities will include:

• Developing and encouraging project team performance, ensuring that Wates’ main contractual obligations and strategies are executed and regularly reviewed.
• Completing and submitting monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR) and progress reports.
• Demonstrating understanding of internal and external tender strategies and build-up.
• Agreeing on external valuations and cash flow to maximize project value.
• Working with the Commercial Manager to agree and produce main and subcontract final accounts.
• Ensuring all subcontract management and process obligations are complete, with particular reference to procurement, measurement and valuation, contractual instructions, notices, orders, health and safety.

To be successful, you will have relevant commercial skills and experience, including the ability to maximize value recovery, control costs, and manage cash flow, along with a good understanding of financial reports and final accounts.

You should also be a confident communicator, capable of forming and developing relationships with clients, project surveyors, design teams, and supply chain partners. A commitment to leading and developing commercial site teams is essential.

The role will be based between the office and site, with some home working.
