Job summary

Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils are seeking a highly organised Project Support Officer to help deliver economic growth, regeneration and community initiatives across Bromsgrove and Redditch. It is a fixed-term contract for one year.

You will provide administrative and organisational support to project teams, coordinate meetings and events, maintain records, assist with procurement and finance processes, and prepare reports for senior managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing administrative support in a busy office.
  • Experience organising meetings, events and activities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of basic project management principles and administrative processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Educated to Level 3 in a business administration, financial or project management related subject, or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and organisational support to project teams, helping ensure the successful delivery of economic growth and regeneration programmes.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, including arranging venues, preparing documentation and recording actions and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation and tracking systems to support effective project management and governance.
  • Support procurement and financial administration processes, including purchase orders and invoice monitoring.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior managers, elected Members and stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain performance information to help monitor project progress, outcomes and impact.
  • Provide a professional point of contact for businesses, partners and members of the public, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
