Job summary

The Gambling Commission, based in Birmingham, is seeking a capable project/ programme professional to support governance, delivery and control across a portfolio of initiatives. You will closely collaborate with project leads to set up plans, monitor progress and escalate risks to senior colleagues.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, planning and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive, solution-driven mindset and the ability to work at pace within a regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
• Experience in a project/programme environment with governance understanding.
• Ability to identify risks and issues and propose practical solutions.
• Strong planning, organisation and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience in stakeholder management at internal and external levels.
• Ability to work at pace and handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Support the overall management and coordination of the project or programme.
• Work with project leads to ensure effective setup and accurate plans.
• Manage project controls and report status to the Project Lead.
• Develop performance reports for plans, risks and workstreams.
• Capture and escalate dependencies, risks, issues and milestones.
• Assist governance and assurance activities with pre-planned systems.
• Help set up reporting mechanisms for SRO and central performance.
• Recommend resource requirements to senior management as appropriate.
• Support learning and development to embed good delivery practices.
