Job description

Project Specialist


Up to £35,000 p/a DOE, Shoreham-by-Sea (hybrid with travel to Burgess Hill), 40 hours Monday to Friday, Temporary with potential to go permanent, 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, Pension scheme.



The Role


We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Specialist to join a dynamic logistics business undergoing an exciting period of transformation. Reporting to the Business Transformation Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering key projects that support operational change and improvement across the organisation. This is a hybrid role based primarily in Shoreham-by-Sea, with occasional travel to the Burgess Hill warehouse.



You will manage and deliver a variety of transformation initiatives including client onboarding and offboarding, Warehouse Management System (WMS) migrations, and client warehouse relocations. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, IT, HR, and Commercial teams to ensure effective project planning and execution.



Key responsibilities include:



  • Leading and delivering multiple cross-functional projects

  • Creating and maintaining project plans, timelines, and budgets

  • Managing project risks and dependencies using Prince2 or similar methodologies

  • Tracking progress and ensuring delivery within scope

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across various departments

  • Hosting project meetings and updates for internal and senior teams

  • Supporting the creation of project documentation and reporting structures

  • Driving continuous improvement and standardisation of processes

  • Ensuring alignment of projects with overall business transformation goals



Requirements


The ideal candidate will have proven project management experience across multiple business functions and a solid understanding of Prince2 or equivalent methodologies. The ability to manage concurrent projects in a fast-paced logistics environment is highly desirable, alongside strong stakeholder communication skills and a problem-solving mindset. Experience with WMS or ERP systems, and a background in operational change or digital implementations will be advantageous.



This role could suit someone who has worked as a Project Coordinator, Change Analyst, or Transformation Officer.
