37.5 hours Monday to Friday
To provide integrated logistics solutions for customers specialising in the Projects / Oil & Gas sector.
To ensure adherence to the CAA, TAPA & physical security regulations at all times.
To ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies. Maintain housekeeping guidelines.
To adhere to HMRC, GDP, and IATA regulations.
Objective / Purpose of the Job
- Receiving and checking purchase order details from customers
- Providing exceptional customer service as expected from a Global Freight Forwarder
- Liaison / expediting with suppliers regarding goods readiness dates/terms of sale
- Arranging collections and deliveries
- Arranging packing of cargo as required
- Requesting/receiving/checking export documents from suppliers
- Consolidation of cargo for export by all transport modes
- Booking space with carriers
- Completing export / import documentation
- Maintaining/updating in-house & external bespoke IT track and trace systems
- Other duties as required and commensurate with the position
Key Activities / Accountabilities
- High-quality liaison with customers, suppliers, and packers
- Close cooperation with Geodis UK offices and warehouse colleagues
- Good interface with other Geodis operations worldwide as required
- Maintenance of IT track and trace systems
- Maintenance of external internet portals
- Proactive resolution of operational disputes with customers and Geodis offices worldwide
- Meeting invoicing targets
- Accurate accruals for costs and income, as informed
Special Working Conditions
Flexibility to work extended hours to ensure cargo receipt and dispatch according to customer requirements.
Applicant's profile
Essential Education and/or Training
Educated to ‘O' / GCSE and/or ‘A' level standard or equivalent.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years experience in international air/sea/road freight forwarding or industrial projects
- Experience with UK customs formalities
- Knowledge/fluency in French and/or other European languages is advantageous
- Commercial experience is a plus
- Experience with heavy sea freight and project cargo is advantageous
- Experience in onshore/offshore wind farm projects is advantageous
- Experience with air or sea freight chartering is beneficial
Necessary Technical / Functional Skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel
