Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Project Manager / Site Manager for flat roofing projects in the North West corridor. The role covers end-to-end management from tender through to completion, with a focus on health and safety, cost control, and client liaison.

The ideal candidate will have proven site or project management experience in flat roofing, knowledge of single ply and hot melt systems, and a full UK driving license. CSCS and SMSTS are required, with strong IT and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in site or project management in flat roofing.
• Experience with new build and refurbishment flat roofing systems is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
• Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Promote a high quality range of flat roofing services (cold applied liquid, built up felt, hot melt, green roofs, solar, single ply).
• Manage all aspects of the project from tender to completion.
• Write health and safety documents for each site and carry out checks.
• Monitor site activity, coordinate workers, and manage risk assessments.
• Liaise with QS and commercial managers to keep projects on cost and schedule.
• Provide client reports and attend pre-contract and progress meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of contracts, acts, and legislation.
• Oversee a single contract at a time, on commercial projects.

The role of the Project Manager / Site Manager - Flat Roofing

• Project Manager / Site Manager position promoting a high quality range of flat roofing services; cold applied liquid, built up felt, hot melt, green roofs, solar, and single ply
• Managing all aspects of the project from tender all the way through to the completion
• Writing up health and safety documents for each individual site
• Monitoring all site activity; organising all site workers, collating risk assessments and carrying out health and safety checks
• Liaising with quantity surveyors and commercial managers ensuring all works are moving smoothly that project deadlines are adhered to, whilst maintaining project cost plans
• Liaising with clients and providing reports for the project
• Attending pre-contract meetings and progress meetings with clients
• Maintaining good working knowledge of current contracts, acts, and legislation
• Overseeing a single contract at any given moment.
• Predominantly working on commercial projects such as: local authorities, NHS, schools

The ideal applicant will be a Project Manager / Site Manager - Flat Roofing with:

• Must have a proven track record in Site or Project management in the flat roofing market sector
• Ideally experienced in both new build (single ply & hot melt) and refurbishment flat roofing systems
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal across all levels
• Full UK driving license
• Must work well as a team and “fit the culture”
• Must have CSCS card & SMSTS
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Confident and articulate
• Ability to plan and organise deliverables
• High self confidence
