As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, is looking for a talented, experienced Project Quality Manager to join our Quality Team here at Boccard.

The Project Quality Manager will report to the UK Quality Manager and will assist in defining quality standards for project delivery, ensuring quality assurance measures to meet those standards.

This position is based at our Bristol city centre office with regular travel to HPC and our fully digitalised manufacturing facility in Deeside, near Chester. The Project Quality Manager's responsibilities include:

  1. Developing, reviewing, and maintaining project processes for the successful implementation and completion of piping support projects.
  2. Promoting a Right First-Time attitude and ensuring the final quality of delivery.
  3. Developing, embedding, and maintaining Nuclear Safety Culture behaviors.
  4. Conducting training sessions on Nuclear Culture & CFSI.
  5. Liaising with quality and surveillance teams to ensure raw materials are free from CFSI and compliant with standards.
  6. Supporting the approval, review, audit, and management of the approved suppliers list.
  7. Supporting manufacturing and installation teams with technical issues to achieve project scope completion.
  8. Proactively detecting or preventing CFSI to protect our supply chain and components.
  9. Ensuring manufacturing and construction processes are efficient and current.
  10. Being the main contact for all Project Quality aspects.
  11. Ensuring adherence to defined procedures for the project.
  12. Managing quality assurance and control for manufacturing activities, including NDT and dimensional checks, with proper documentation.
  13. Monitoring project performance using relevant indicators: Safety, On Time, On Specification, On Budget, Customer Satisfaction.
  14. Understanding and exceeding customer expectations.
  15. Communicating quality matters with clients.
  16. Providing feedback to project teams and leadership on quality concerns.
  17. Analyzing and resolving process quality issues related to performance and standards.
  18. Managing KPI data and identifying improvement opportunities, including preparing performance reports.
  19. Traveling to suppliers to ensure quality and capacity meet requirements, including audits and reviews.
  20. Training team members on company policies and guidelines.

Qualifications include extensive experience in manufacturing or construction quality programs, implementing Lean methodologies, leadership qualities, strong IT skills, resilience, and a UK driving license.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC in Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 19443, welding & NDT standards.
  • Familiarity with RCCM and nuclear new build requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of welding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
