The Opportunity:

Swift is recruiting for an experienced Curriculum Quality Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone currently working as a Quality Manager within a college or training provider setting, or as a Lead IQA ready to take the next step into a senior role.

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance within the further education (FE) sector, with strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and funding rules. You will play a key role in driving improvements to all aspects of quality across the business, being both adaptive to change and following plans resulting from our Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). Experience as an Ofsted nominee would be advantageous.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use your thorough understanding of Ofsted’s current inspection framework and awareness of future changes to identify areas for improvement that offer the best solution for the business whilst maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Ensure excellent quality assurance practices by forging positive and collaborative relationships between Quality and Operations Teams
  • Lead on relationships with Awarding Bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations, ensuring that Swift’s ethos and culture drives communication and that we work with them to maintain positive and supportive working relationships.
  • Take control of the Quality Improvement Plan so that it is a functioning working document that sets the priorities for the business.
  • Work with the Quality & Compliance Director to develop the Self-Assessment Report and position statement when needed.This requires a thorough understanding of the business and the sector and an ability to think strategically.
  • Ensure the business maintains its Matrix accreditation by leading on the business’s strategy for Information Advice & Guidance.
  • Using feedback from IQA’s and your own findings from additional quality assurance activity, identify, design and implement improvements to curriculum and resources to maximise the learner experience and outcomes.
  • Support the business to reach QAR goals. Monitor and report on the status and predictions throughout the year. Devise and report on improvement strategies.
  • Maintain an awareness of withdrawal rates, learners taking a break in learning and any out of funded (OOF) learners and look to review the processes and controls in place to reduce the associated risks.
  • Lead the Complaints and Appeals processes, respond accordingly with the best interests of the business in mind and always look to turn a negative to a positive.

It is a requirement for this role to be office based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter on Monday's and Friday's, at least. Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Friday's 8:30am-4pm.
