Job summary

Akkodis is recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing environment in Peterlee. You will lead supplier quality initiatives and drive improvements across engineering, procurement, and manufacturing functions.

Responsibilities include APQP/PPAP execution, NPI support, supplier development, and quality planning. The role requires strong stakeholder management and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Strong Supplier Quality Engineering experience.
• Practical APQP and PPAP experience.
• Experience supporting NPI and product development activities.
• Supplier development, supplier management, and procurement knowledge.
• Proven experience leading quality-related projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, rail, FMCG, or pharmaceutical backgrounds considered.

• Conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions with suppliers.
• Presenting quality metrics, project updates, and recommendations to key stakeholders.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality professional to take ownership of quality and supplier-focused projects while working across engineering, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing functions. You'll play a key role in supporting business-critical activities, driving supplier performance, and delivering quality improvements across a diverse project portfolio.

What you'll be doing

• Leading supplier quality and quality improvement projects from initiation through delivery
