Job summary

Seismic Recruitment is seeking a Supplier APQP + PPAP Engineer for a 12-month initial contract in Peterlee, County Durham. The role is fully onsite with a 36.5-hour week, Monday to Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm and Friday 12:00pm finish. Salary is up to £27.73 PAYE plus holiday pay and pension, or £37.64 Umbrella.

You will support supplier quality initiatives, NPI, continuous improvement and supplier development while working with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• This role requires strong supplier quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with APQP and PPAP methodologies is essential.
• Proven project coordination or management experience is required.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities across multiple projects.
• Support NPI, Continuous Product Improvement and New Source Introduction programmes.
• Manage project timelines, milestones and key deliverables.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
• Drive APQP activities through to PPAP approval.
• Support supplier selection, development and performance improvement.
• Identify and mitigate supplier and project risks.
• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are currently recruiting for a Supplier APQP + PPAP Engineer to join a leading global manufacturer in Peterlee on an initial 12-month contract.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of supplier quality, manufacturing, procurement and supply chain projects. You'll play a key role in supporting supplier quality initiatives, new product introductions, continuous improvement activities and supplier development programmes while working closely with both suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities across multiple projects
• Support NPI, Continuous Product Improvement and New Source Introduction programmes

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain teams

About You

• Strong Supplier Quality experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with suppliers, procurement and supply chain functions
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP methodologies
• Strong project coordination or project management experience
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, or Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential

Desirable

• Experience within: Automotive, Aerospace, Rail, FMCG, Heavy Engineering or Pharmaceuticals
