Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Derby is seeking a Programme Lead to join the Civil Aerospace Aftermarket Operations team. The role covers planning, delegation, monitoring, and control of project packages to meet time, cost, quality, scope, benefits and risk targets.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days on-site. You will lead multi-functional teams across engineering, procurement, quality and finance, ensuring delivery against ambitious capacity expansion and MRO projects while building a strong network

Qualifications

  • Experience in MRO and/or projects of medium to high complexity with accountability for Quality, Time, Cost and Performance.
  • Experience in project management or equivalent, leading multi-functional teams.
  • Formal qualification or working towards project management qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with digital awareness and analytical capability.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.
  • Secure and manage resources needed for the project activity from internal and/or external providers.
  • Create and manage an integrated set of plans / schedules.
  • Develop and secure budgets for the project(s) and control forecast vs actual costs.
  • Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the packages of work.
  • Act as the focal point and escalation route for all aspects related to the packages of work.
  • Identify, address, and resolve differences between individuals and / or interest groups.
  • Organise and chair schedule review meetings and report areas needing executive decisions.

What you will be doing:

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Civil Aerospace Aftermarket Operations team as a Programme Lead. We strive to deliver the highest standard of ongoing care for our customers. We are responsible for the development and deployment of the next generation of services, ensuring Rolls‑Royce remains a market leader in this critical area generating the profit and cash to support the rest of the Group. As a member of the Aftermarket Operations Programme Management team, you will be deployed to one or more key programmes or projects, which are critical to transforming the Aftermarket Operations business. You will be responsible for the planning, delegation, monitoring, and control of all aspects of the project, and the motivation of those involved, to achieve the project’s objectives / output with the expected performance targets of time, cost, quality, scope, benefits and risks. This will be a challenging role and provide an excellent opportunity to develop your career and build a strong network across the breadth of Aftermarket Operations. 2026 will see more large engines visiting overhaul facilities than ever before. The MRO Capacity and Capability Team operates in Aftermarket Operations, leading many exciting and high-profile projects to increase the total capacity of Civil Aerospace’s Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities. This includes expanding our existing Joint Venture facilities like SAESL (Singapore) and building brand new MRO facilities such as BAESL (Beijing) and the New Europe Shop (Turkish Technic). The team are also at the early stages of establishing other high-profile capacity which is critical to keeping the fleet flying in both short- and long-term fleet health. You will join the team at an exciting and busy time. Our role is to integrate engineering, commercial, procurement, quality, finance and many other functions effectively, aligning and deploying this expertise to ensure that Rolls‑Royce's network of MRO facilities grows in size and capability quickly to service our rapidly increasing global fleet.

Experience of working in MRO and /or a variety of project roles in projects of medium to high complexity with personal accountability for Quality, Time, Cost and Performance elements. Experience in project management or equivalent industry experience, skilled at leading multi-functional teams would be an advantage. Formally qualified or working towards project management qualifications. Excellent communication, influencing, relationship management skills with focus on drawing value for the company. Passion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems, demonstrating digital awareness and analytical capability

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7 - 10. This job is advertised at the grades shown, and this is the desired operating level for this role. We encourage applications from candidates with relevant experience from any grade.
