Role Description

We are looking for a Planning Engineer to join our Nuclear Consultancy business supporting some of the UK's largest Nuclear projects. The projects involve both new build and decommissioning within a structured, collaborative environment focused on innovative solutions and teamwork, with an emphasis on delivering programme outputs.

As part of our Programme and Project Management team, you'll help deliver some of the biggest, most iconic projects with some of the best talent around. Your energy, agility, and keen eye for detail will help deliver transformational outcomes for multiple clients daily.

The role is within our global Resilience business area, which works to protect natural environments and water resources while powering future generations. We address challenges such as climate change, urbanization, biodiversity loss, and the increasing frequency of large-scale events like floods and wildfires.

Role Accountabilities
  1. Develop and maintain project schedules, including baseline and detailed schedules to support delivery.
  2. Manage and report on Critical Path Analysis.
  3. Assess subcontractors' programs in accordance with NEC requirements.
  4. Ensure schedules remain aligned with standards and reflect project scope changes.
  5. Monitor interdependencies between projects and programmes on site, recording and reviewing impacts regularly.
  6. Maintain baseline schedules through change control, ensuring schedule integrity.
  7. Maintain the Work Breakdown Structure per client processes.
  8. Conduct Schedule Performance Index & Schedule Variance analysis, root cause analysis, and provide recommendations and recovery plans.
  9. Participate in pre-contract management and assessments.
  10. Ensure the integrity of baseline and progressed schedules.

Additional responsibilities include willingness to travel to site or client offices in Bridgwater and/or Bristol twice a week.

Qualifications & Experience
  1. Experience in the Nuclear sector is preferred; however, candidates with experience in public sector projects within regulated environments (water, rail, aviation) are encouraged to apply.
  2. Experience working with NEC contracts, preferably options A, C & E.
  3. Understanding of Earned Value Management.
  4. Understanding of Critical Path Analysis.
  5. Experience with P6 software.
  6. Significant experience in schedule planning, forecasting, and reporting.
