Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

MERITUS are recruiting for a Project Planner to join our client within the engineering sector on a 12-month contract from their site in Oxford. This is a fully onsite position and will require candidates to hold or be eligible for DBS and SC clearance.

PROJECT PLANNER - INSIDE IR35 - £46.30 PER HOUR - OXFORD - 12 MONTHS - PRIMAVERA P6 - DBS/SC CLEARANCE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - SECTOR: ENGINEERING

As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and integration of project schedules across a portfolio of engineering projects. Working closely with Project Managers and stakeholders, you will ensure project activities are accurately planned, monitored and reported to support successful delivery against time, cost and quality objectives.

You will play a key role in maintaining resourced project plans, monitoring progress, identifying risks and recovery actions, and providing accurate reporting to support project decision-making. The role will also involve supporting project governance activities, facilitating planning events and contributing to the continuous improvement of planning processes and tools.

Skillset/experience required:

What can you bring to the role?

• Experience working with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management and planning methodologies
• Expert user knowledge of Primavera P6 and planning tools supporting Agile delivery methods such as Kanban
• Experience operating across the full project lifecycle, including formal gate reviews
• Background in project planning within an engineering, manufacturing or production environment
• Experience developing and maintaining detailed, resourced project plans
• Strong understanding of Gantt Charts, Critical Path Analysis, Resource Allocation and Capacity Planning
• Experience reporting against key project metrics and KPIs, including SPI and CPI
• Understanding of risk management principles within project planning
• Ability to prioritise complex workloads and deliver to challenging timescales
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience using Google Workspace tools
• Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE2, AMPMP or equivalent experience would be advantageous
