Job summary

OEG Energy Group is seeking a Project Planner to support the planning and coordination of offshore and onshore projects. You will develop schedules, baseline timelines and resource plans, tracking progress to ensure delivery on time and within budget.

The role involves collaboration with Project Managers, Tendering and Engineering in a fast-paced environment. The position is a fixed-term maternity cover starting November 2026 for approximately 12 months, based in Chester/Hawarden, United

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Project Management, or similar).
  • Experience in project coordination within the oil and energy sector is preferred.
  • Experience in a project or programme management environment with delivery controls.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project planning documentation including schedules and baseline timelines.
  • Estimate timelines and allocate resources such as labour, materials and equipment.
  • Track progress with S-curves, lookahead reports and monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Tendering and Engineering to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track from initiation to completion.

  • Chester/Hawarden, United Kingdom.
Contract
  • Fixed-term maternity cover.
  • Starting November 2026 for approximately 12 months.
Core Purpose
  • Support the planning and coordination of project activities, ensuring work is scheduled, monitored, and delivered in line with agreed timelines, budgets and processes.
  • Play a key role in the successful design, development, and execution of both offshore and onshore projects.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage resources, and help guide the team to stay on track whilst ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively from initiation to completion.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project planning documentation, including tender schedules, detailed offshore schedules, and as-built analysis.
  • Estimate the project timeline and keep schedules on track by creating detailed baseline schedules that outline tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Estimating and allocating resources such as labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Create and maintain project records including schedule data metrics, and reports ensuring all data captured is accurate and meets the specific requirements.
  • Track and report key planning metrics, including progress S-curves, lookahead reports, and monthly reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing input and feedback on process enhancements and potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Tendering and Engineering to ensure smooth project execution, troubleshoot schedule and timeline issues and escalates them to the team.
QHSE Responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in project coordination within the industry is preferred.
  • Experience of working in a project or programme management environment, with responsibility for delivery or controls of individual projects, programmes or portfolios.
  • Proactive and confident, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience using controls/planning software applications such as Primavera (P6), Oracle Primavera Cloud, Power BI, Microsoft Project and Office Applications.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly, prioritise effectively and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Controls principles.
