Where will you be working?

At M Group Highways, we support the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

We don’t just build roads and bridges — we’re building a better future, creating lasting social value that benefits the communities in which we work.

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s leading highway maintenance contractor. Our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions, offering services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

Devon Highways, a contract secured by M Group in 2017, will operate until 2027. M Group is responsible for delivering a wide range of highways maintenance and improvement projects for Devon on behalf of Devon County Council.

What will you be doing?
  • Check the Service Managers Works Ordering system and monitor the status of Works Orders to update the Works Programmes accordingly.
  • Use the Annual Plan issued by the Service Manager to monitor, plan work, and produce a resourced programme for the financial year.
  • Undertake Programming updates as revised versions of the Annual Plan are issued.
  • Work with delivery teams and supply chain to create and update the Works Programme, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Create and update all Streetworks (Noticing/Permitting/Licences) information to support scheme delivery.
  • Coordinate with other network stakeholders to optimize delivery.
  • Plan, monitor, and report on delivery performance using Asta Power Project and Power-BI Reports, including data reporting to drive performance.
  • Maximize productivity through effective programming, liaising with QS and AQS, and ensuring works are financially controlled to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Escalate programme delays to the Programme Manager and Area Manager to minimize issues with timing or quality of delivery.
What you’ll bring
  • Strong planning and programme management skills, with experience in using programming tools.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and permitting processes, including the Code of Practice for Coordination of Street and Roadworks.
  • Experience with NRSWA.

  • Drive, energy, and enthusiasm for improving performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
