The Capital Programmes Division is looking for a Project Officer to join its Commercial and Compliance Team to provide back-office commercial support to the business.
The Division, part of the Growth & Development Directorate, is responsible for developing and delivering approximately £200m per annum of Major and Minor Capital Programmes construction projects across the city.
This role sits within the Commercial Performance & Compliance Team, part of the Division’s Project Management Office. The team ensures, through proactive risk and assurance management, that the business is safeguarded and complies with contractual obligations for the supply of goods and services. It is also responsible for governance, processes, procedures, and financial reporting to enable clear, auditable workflows and accountability for departmental budget and project finance.
The Project Officer will ensure compliance with the council's project management methodology, contribute to developing quality standards and reviews, and support project reporting and risk management.
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will have an understanding of risk management, ability to maintain risk logs, organize multiple tasks, and possess numeracy skills for financial data review. Excellent communication skills are essential for stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in ICT packages, including Microsoft SharePoint, and awareness of public sector procurement, construction contracts, and CDM 2015 regulations are required.
