Job summary

Walk Wheel Cycle Trust is seeking a Project Officer to support schools and Local Authorities across Scotland to boost active travel, including walking, wheeling and cycling. You will help pupils, staff and communities travel healthier and more sustainably.

You will deliver engaging projects, work with partners, and coordinate multiple initiatives with flexibility for independent and team work. The role emphasizes safeguarding and collaborative delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ work experience including experience working with community groups, which may include voluntary work.
  • Knowledge of active travel (walking, wheeling and cycling) and an understanding of the barriers faced by underrepresented or disadvantaged communities.
  • Experience delivering workshops, presentations and project work, with the ability to communicate clearly and build effective collaborative relationships.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and deliver across multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk.

About the role

Team: Delivery/ SWNI

As the Project Officer, you will support schools and Local Authorities across Scotland to increase active travel, such as walking, wheeling and cycling. Your work will help pupils, staff and local communities travel in healthier and more sustainable ways.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver behaviour change and engagement projects that encourage active travel.

  • Plan, organise and deliver tools and projects that support partners to encourage more walking, wheeling and cycling.

  • Build effective working relationships with schools, community groups and local authorities to support these projects.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering multiple projects that engage and support partners with a flexible approach to working independently and in teams.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has experience and understanding in the areas listed below. You don’t need to meet every requirement — if you feel you’d be a good fit, we encourage you to apply.
