Job description

Gloucester | Hybrid | UK-wide Projects | Permanent

ARCA Consulting is working with a leading infrastructure contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex infrastructure projects across the UK.

The business is looking for a strong Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, commercially and successfully within an NEC4 environment.

The ideal background would be within HV Transmission & Distribution, power or energy, with experience working with DNOs and/or Transmission Owners (TOs).

However, the business is open to experienced Project Managers from other major infrastructure sectors, including rail, high-value civils, highways and utilities, where they have strong NEC4 and complex project delivery experience.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for projects from mobilisation through to completion, with responsibility for:

  • Programme, cost and commercial performance
  • Risk, safety and quality
  • Client and stakeholder relationships
  • Project teams, subcontractors and supply chain
  • Change control and contractual management
  • Delivering projects safely, on programme and within budget
Projects may include:
  • HV substations
  • OHL / transmission
  • HV cables and cable routes
  • Civils and associated infrastructure

Strong NEC4 ECC experience is essential. You will need to be comfortable managing early warnings, compensation events, change control, programme and commercial performance.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in Project Managers who have:

  • Strong and demonstrable NEC4 ECC experience
  • Good commercial and contractual understanding
  • Experience managing subcontractors, project teams and key stakeholders
  • Strong programme, cost and risk management capability
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 or major infrastructure contractor
  • Excellent communication and client management skills

Power, HV, T&D and DNO/TO experience would be highly advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate.

We are also keen to hear from Project Managers with backgrounds in rail infrastructure, major civils, highways, utilities or other complex infrastructure environments, provided they can demonstrate strong project delivery and NEC4 experience.

Experience with CEMAR, P6, outage planning, ASTI, HVDC or NSIP would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a business delivering major UK infrastructure and energy projects, offering Project Managers the opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects and further develop their experience within the power sector.

Please note, this position does not offer visa sponsorship and is not open to candidates requiring sponsorship or relying on a Graduate visa. Candidates must have an existing, unrestricted right to work in the UK.
