You will work closely with colleagues, local authorities, community groups and other partners to deliver projects that create positive, sustainable outcomes for people and places. The role requires strong organisation, clear communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Around 500 million walking, wheeling and cycling journeys are made on the National Cycle Network each year, helping connect people, communities and the places that matter most to them. The Walk Wheel Cycle Trust created the National Cycle Network through collaboration with communities, volunteers, supporters and hundreds of organisations across the UK. As custodians of the network, we are responsible for maintaining and improving it while shaping a long‑term vision for its future. Our goal is to make walking, wheeling and cycling safer, more accessible and more inclusive, enabling more people to choose active travel as part of their everyday lives.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the delivery of National Cycle Network infrastructure projects, overseeing design, construction and implementation from planning through to completion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, working collaboratively to develop and deliver projects identified within the Network Development Plan.
  • Support the development and growth of the project pipeline by identifying opportunities and helping to progress projects from concept to delivery.
  • Share knowledge, insights and project updates through clear reports and presentations, helping to inform, engage and influence key stakeholders and partners.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on project management, is passionate about walking, wheeling and cycling and wants to join us in our mission to improve the National Cycle Network.
