The project:
Be a part of our project management consultancy business that spans our five global hubs, overseeing work for world-leading organisations across the public and private sectors. We require a Mechanical Handling & Moorings Assistant Package Manager in Plymouth for a large infrastructure project supporting upgrades within HMNB Devonport, enabling deep maintenance for nuclear submarines. Mace is engaged as Delivery Partner to Babcock for these upgrades, which include dock enhancements to support the Astute fleet. The key responsibilities include planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the Mechanical Handling and Mooring design & manufacturing works, ensuring goals are achieved within schedule, budget, and safety standards. Effective communication with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders is essential.

Support project delivery from inception through design, procurement, and construction, ensuring adherence to program and milestones. Manage tasks and deliverables, review design processes, oversee procurement, and support construction managers to meet delivery targets. Conduct contractor reporting, chair progress meetings, monitor design and safety compliance, and manage technical document reviews and approvals.
